Past Activities
1. President’s Report
The Medlins have finished their house and moved in in late March. The Kenneys have
purchased Lot #13 and hope to begin construction soon. Their daughter and son-in-law,
Andrea and Terry Sterling, purchased their previous Lot #20.
We will be trick-or-treating on Halloween night. Leave your porch light on if you wish
to participate.
2. Treasurer’s Report
Our current balance is $9,825.29. We spent $500 for coal patch to repair potholes,
$500 on insurance, $100 on salt, $200 on pond weed control, and as yet no money on
bush hogging. Annual dues of $400 each brings in $10,000, and normal expenditures
total $1,300.
3. Committee Reports
3.1 Pond Committee
The pond has been sprayed for weeds. It was noted that fertilizer run-off from homeowners’ lawns makes the weeds grow more.
A clean-up day to clean up trees, etc., around the pond was recommended when the weather turns cooler.
3.2 Beautification Committee
A pothole repair/clean-up day was held on May 17th with a good turnout and a lot of work done. It was recommended that we have semi-annual cleanup/beautification days in the spring and fall. Josh & Don agreed to clean up/trim trees at the entrance at their convenience. We will hold a beautification workday on Saturday, December 13th, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The Beautification Committee will also look into replacing the lights at the entrance to get ones that are solar and stronger.
3.3 Architecture Review Committee
Kenneys will soon be submitting plans for their house build on Lot #13.
Fran and Laura both stated they would not be serving on this committee
next year.
3.4 Website Committee
There was a $20 charge for the website, and it has been updated.
3.5 Road Committee
A swale was put in on the common area by Griegers and is working well.
Fran and Don received quotes from Alamance Paving to repair problem road areas before winter at a quote of $6,800 for about 1500 square yards of BST. The consensus was to wait on major road repairs and just patch potholes at least until house construction is done on Lot #13. To that effect, a road patch workday is scheduled for Saturday, October 25th, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Planned Activities
Annual Dues
A motion was made by Laura and seconded by Tom to keep the dues at $400 per year. It carried unanimously. Dues can be paid in two installments of $200 each due by February 15th and June 15th, or in one payment before February 15th.
